ANIMAL FARM

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL, BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS.

"When the animals take over the farm, they think it is the start of a better life. Their dreams is of a world where all animals are equal and all property is shared. But soon the pigs take control and one of them, Napoleon, becomes the leader of all the animals. One by one the principles of the revolution are abandoned, until the animals have even less freedom than before." That is basically what this cartoon is about. Animal Farm is cartoon by Halas & Batchelor produced in 1954 as one of the first animated feature films in the UK. It was based on the book Animal Farm by George Orwell but Halas replaced commonplace propaganda for his own reticent, melancholy satire in his version. Halas stated that his happier ending is reward to the audience for their emotional investment.. Orwell would not have liked this at all.. me neither. I prefer the book over this film because here the animals look on in dismay when they realize that the pigs have become nothing better than the human masters of old. Despite the changes made by Halas this cartoon is a good watch, but keep in mind that the happy ending is just the make you feel better. The reality is different.
